Add Java Stack Later?

Former Member

Hi,

We got ECC 6.0 system built recently.

But this system rightnow only got ABAP stack.

Since our development is going to be in ABAP we do not

need Java stack now.

But, in future if we need Java Stack,

Can I add Java stack to the above mentioned ECC system later?

Thanks for your help.

Hey Ram,

You can do it man.

That shouldn't be a problem.

As ABAP will run as seperate Stack and Java stack too.

If you were going for Java add on then you should have done it now.

Anyway if you are planning to run Java Stack seperately then you can install it later.

Thanks & Regards

Hai,

yes you can add JAVA stack to existing ABAP stack...

start the SAPINST.EXE tool select additional components select...> JAVA AS ADD ON TO ABAP SYSTEM..

provide the details...

so that JAVA stack is installed..

it will works..

Hi to all,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the ABAP system should installed as unicode for

enabling the Java add-in later. So if his ABAP system was installed as non-unicode

he can't install a java add in ... am I right ?

Hi Dimitry,

No you can even add Java Add-In to a Non-Unicode system.

But java will be of Unicode(default) and ABAP on non-unicode.
