Over the weekend I attempted to test out the new SP13 installation on our sandbox and got the following error:
WARNING 2005-08-01 08:30:06
Execution of the command "C:\j2sdk1.4.2_07/bin/java.exe '-classpath' './sharedlib/launcher.jar;.' Output:

I looked at the config.log and have posted that log file here:

Error occured during tasks XML generation!
A configuration with the path "cluster_data/instance.properties.ID21094" does not exist.
I have confirmed via the visual config tool that we do not have a node with that ID so I am not sure how or why the upgrade tool is trying to perform a template configuration on a node with that ID. There is also nothing in any of the property files that would indicate a second server. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Eric
As mentioned before, note 812910 describes the solution. Beware to use uppercase for your hostname in both the files (update.. and prepend..). b.t.w. I received the error in a SP17 installation.
