I am in the initial planning/discovery stages of DMS. I have been able to do some basic config around document types, front end, ans statuses in DMS already. I am able to create a document type, have it Released automatically, attach it to an object. I haven't checked yet to see if it has been stored on the SAP server or not yet. I'm sure that I am missing something.
A copy of the documentation that you have for DMS and ECM would be appreciated.
Also do you have info on converting documents (that have been attached via 'Service for Objects') to DMS KPRO and/or Archive Link? We might have to go to an external repository (Documentum).
What are you trying to achieve, the question is too open ended. Its like asking for screen dumps for SAP, the configuration would be different depending on what you are trying to achieve.
I regret that I havent furnished completely in my mail, still what i persisted is basic customizing screen shots available for DMS & ECM modules prepared by any consultant for their project, By which we can cross check and make sure that every thing is covered.
You are correct! The customizing will be diff depending to each industry ,but this is only for my cross reference.Hope u will help me out.
There is no "standard" customising that you can compare to. ECM is cross module component and is dependent largely on what you are trying to achieve in DMS or the area you intend using ECM. Are you planning to use status management in ECM? You can just screen dump config without understanding what you are trying to achieve and if you are trying to make sure everything is covered, you will have as much luck checking all the areas of ECM in SPRO and making sure you have configured in each area. There are many questions that would affect not only the configuration, but what areas of configuration you use so to post all of them would be pointless.
