Length based planning - Need some Ideas

Dear Guys,

The Scenario is as follows

We are in sap DIMP ECC.6 with APO planning and cable industry

Sales order going to drive the production order

just wants to know what is mean by length based planning its some thing like characteristic based planning

can any one tell what's mean by length based planning or characteristic based planning and how its going to affect the mrp and sap pp

Hello,

In SAP ECC 6.0 how you have mapped the cable length related business processes? Are using varint/ material configuration in ECC 6.0?

If yes then in SCM -APO it needs to be as characteristic based.

If not then in SCM - APO it will be as a normal planning.
