product allocation

Hi Guys,

The scenario is :

Mtrl X has product alloc procedure assigned to it in the material master. The total stock is 100 for this mtrl.

It has been allocated to customer Y Qty =30

so the unallocated stock =70

So how can I sell the unallocated stock.

At present it allows to sell only the allocated stock and only to that customer for whom the allocation is maintained.

Any ideas?

Hi Vishal,

The purpose of the product allocation itself is to restrict particular amount to customer.And in your scenario you would like to allocate the remaining unallocated quantity as well.

Okay. Then we hav consumption logic...let us assume your customer Y is restricted to 30 for Month Sep,2007 ( if your allocation on Monthly basis), and if your sales order is confirmed with that 30 , you have a chance of consuming the the stock in the 'consumption periods(either backward or forward)'.

Plaese go through the following set up:

1) APO -> IMG -> Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP) -> Product Allocation

-> Maintain Product Allocation Group

Maintain Consumption periods for a product allocation group according to your scenario.

2) APO -> IMG ->Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP) -> Product Allocation

->Maintain Product Allocation Procedure

Set the check box 'Cummulative'.otherwise the consumtion periods are not taken into account.
