Customer master XD01 or VD01

Hi all,

I have 3 questions

1) What happens if a customer master is created using T-code VD01 and not XD01.

2) Is there any impact this will have.

3) Is it always compulsary to create customer master with XD01.

Thanks

Vikrant

Hi,

XD01 is to create a customer in the company code level and VD01 is to create the customer specific to the sales area.

As you can see when using XD01, the company code field will be a mandatory entry.

The only difference I can see on my screen is that in XD01 you have an extra field Company code which is not available in VD01. Means that if you create a customer in XD01 you can restrict this customer to be used only for that particular company code.

I would always use XD1.

Hope this helps.

Hi Vikrant,

I f u create customer using XD01, U can general data, com. code data and sales area data. U cann't get com. code data using the t.code VD01.

Better u go through XD01.

You can access only Sale Area data and General Data You cant access Company code data.

Yes Better you create with XD01 which can be used centrally.
