Hi,
Can you share your experience for design the Alerts to our scenario:
Interface Approach:
SAPHR(IDOC)->XI-->FTP(csv)
Please let me know what level and what point can I make the Alerts for this approach?
Appreciated your time ..
Thanks,
PI Learner.
hi
There are several good guides on configuring this. These cover Alert Category definitions, and RZ20 configuration.

Thanks for your quick and supportive replies.
I am looking for more than this, I am aware of how to configure Alerts but rather than I am looking for design side. We are in planning phase at this time , so we just anticipating Alert level for each and every exceptions for this integration.
1. How many levels and what type of Alerts need to be create for my scenario?
2. What type of exception level should trigger to Alerts for my scenario?
Thanks,
PILearner.
Hey
see here is the thing
if u want to trigger alerts in case there is something wrong with the scenarios ,then u can use ALRTCATDEF ,but in case u want to trigger an alert if the SAP system is down or XI itself is down then go for CCMS.
is this what you are looking for?
hit back if u want more
Thanx
Aamir
Hi,
Have a look at vijaya kumari's reply in this thread

Hey
first of all u need to decide as to under what condition u want to trigger the alert, then u need to decide wheteher u want to trigger generic alert or u want to trigger different alerts for different interfaces, then u need to decide what type of alert message u want to send and who all are to be notified.this all can be done in ALRTCATDEF
now comes CCMS,if u guys want to trigger alert in case of any failure in landscape, any system going down,or any fault which engulfs XI box itself(like power shut down, system failure etc)then use CCMS.
Thanx
Aamir
