Upgrading windows 2000 standard edition to 2003 enterprise

Hello everyone:

Currently we are on windows 2003 standard edition SP 1.

Dose any one know what is involved in upgrading the OS from windows 2003 Standard edition to 2003 Enterprise edition?

Also, should we rebuilt the servers or is it safe to do a an in place upgrade instead of rebuilt?

If you could direct me to any documentation, would be appreciated.

Regards,

KG

The safest way would be to backup everything (SAP + Database) and reinstall.

Windows can be very picky when it comes to hardware/HAL drivers for your system depending on what vendor you have, it may or may not work. I have had two identical machines where one upgrade worked as expected and the other was stopping in the middle with a bluescreen and a KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, it couldn't be resurrected in time so I reinstalled.

Just my EUR 0.02

one further recomandation:

go for the 64 Bit version if your hardware supports it.
