SAPR3 installtion on SLES10 on 32 bit intel machine.

Hi,

I am trying to install SAP/R3 4.6d on a intel 32 bit machine with 1 GB RAM.

But on running INSTTOOL.SH it says that....

ldd: Warning: you do not have execution permission for ./R3SETUP

/usr/bin/ldd: line124: ./R3SETUP permission denied.

Please Help.

I freshly copied the CD to the directory and nbow this problem is solved

but on execution of

./R3SETUP -f CENTRAL.R3S it is giving the following error..

<b>ERROR 2007-09-05 15:23:23 Command File Controller LoadMasterTableFrom CommandFile:0

Command file could not be opened.</b>

Why it is so?

Yes, the command file was there. After 3/4 retry I overcome this error.

But a new issue I am facing.

Now but R3setup fails, saying it is

looking for "ORASTAGE.SAR".

Though I have searched the only Oracle 817 CD, and SAP kernel CD I was unable to find this file.

I am confused. Need a help.

Oracle 8.1.7 is LONG out of support, additionally it will NEVER work on SLES 10 because of various reasons (LD_ASSUME_KERNEL environment no more working and other problems).

You need to get at least Oracle 9.2 and an updated installation CD set.

Thank you for the info...

But If I need to install oracle 9i, then I might need to do some change in the kernel CD. Because the kernel (4.6c) I have gives me only the choice of oracle 8.0 and 8.1.

can you throw light on it?

You need a complete new installation CD set for 4.6c with Oracle 9.2 and the corresponding 46D_EXT kernel.

You can download that all from the service marketplace if you have an S-User ID and an extended maintenance contract, because 4.6c is out of maintenance already since december last year.
