Hi ALL,
I am new to XI . I am planing to do a IDOC--> XI --> File scenario .Please help me to resolve some of the doubts i have.
I am doing the following steps :
IN Sender R/3 System:
SM59 : Create a RFC destination to XI
WE21 : Create a TRFC Port ->Specify the RFC Destination Created ==>
What name do we need to specify while creating the port , should
this name match with some thing else while creating the scenario.
BD54 : Create a Logical System for the Idoc Receiver
What name do we need to specify while creating the system ,is
this LS for Sender system or for XI system, should this name
match with some thing else while creating the scenario.
WE20 : Create Partner Profile ->Maintain Outbound Parameters
Second - Log on to XI System:
SM59 : RFC Destination for Sender System
IDX1 : Create the port to get Idoc Metadata from Sender System ( The Port
Name must match the port name in the idoc header - Usually in format
SAP<System ID>. eg. SAPID1 [Optional Step. Not mandatory]
What name do we need to specify while creating the system ,
should this name match with some thing else while creating the
scenario.
IDX2 : Maintain the Idoc Metadata.
Is it possible to test if IDOCS are reaching XI with out creating ..all the objects in IR and ID.
What name do we need to specify while creating the port , should this name match with some thing else while creating the scenario.
Any name. No match is required at sender side.

What name do we need to specify while creating the system ,is this LS for Sender system or for XI system, should this name match with some thing else while creating the scenario.
U can provide any name here also. This name would be used while sending idocs. LS is created both for sender system as well as XI

Prateek,

This name should match logical system name of XI in R/3 and Logical system name of R/3 in XI.We have to maintain those LS names in respective system.

Hi Prateek,

Thanks for your reply . So do i have to maintian two system in BD54 in the
R/3 , One for the sender R/3 and the other for receiver system?? .
DO i need to use the LS name that we use in BD54 to fill the logical
system field when we create 3rd party system in SLD ( For file receiver)??.
If i can use any name for the PORT on the XI , How does XI know which
port to use for a given scenario , when IDOCs are received ??
Hello,
Yes in SCC4 Transaction you have to register the two logical systems,
For doing all these things go for SALE this is best way to do.
2) If you create Web AS Abap System in SLD you have to give the Logical
System Correctly. But if ,its third party then its better to give LS name ,but its not mandatory
3)For this... We are Linking the sender and receiver by using Partner profile,RFC destination and one more IDX1 is the port for IDOC and its duty is to receive all
the incoming IDOC irrespective of the sender.
With Regards,
Sagar
Check the logical system name for ur R/3 and XI system in SCC4.Den u have to maintain the LS name of R/3 in BD54 in XI.Same way maintain the LS name of XI in BD54 in ur R/3.After maintaining dese LS names in both the systems,do the partner profile configuration.U can give any name for the port on ur sender side.but for the port dat u made in XI in IDX1 should start wid SAP(any name) give any name u want after initials SAP.
