What is the use of CS01 ?

While creating BOM , we use the t-code for creating material BOM for SD. What is the use of this step in BOM ? If we don't use this step what will be the side effect ?

Hi

CS01 is the masterdata for the BOM where you maintain the header materials and its BOM.

If this is not maintained, during sales order creation with the main item, a pop up will appear mentioning that "No valid Bill of Materials"found for the entered material. and you may not be able to process the order further.
