Hi Raj,

For initializing the planning area:

You have to execute a report" /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE" using Transaction se38.

These are few more activities which you should Perform regurlarly:

Consistency Check for existing Time Series: /SAPAPO/TSCONS (Tcode).

Model Consistency Check: /SAPAPO/CONSCHK (Tcode)

Hope this is of some help to you..

Regards,

Manjit

if you are on SCM4.1 plus then you may be able to use process chains as well to initialize planning area TS objects

/SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE is the report if you want to set up the variant

also make sure you run the plannign area consistency checks after initializing

there is no initialization for planning books but just make the data views are alighned to the initialization of the planning area. they should move automatically if you have set it properly in planning book design

Hi Raj,

You need to create a variant with a dynamic date calculation, here you have to specify that you are going to use actual date + X months (number of months that you want to use).

Then you have to create a job that runs periodically with a month periodicity.

You don't need to initialize planning books, you may need to create CVC's every time you load data to a cube or everytime you have new master data.

I hope this can help you.

Regards.

Hello Raj -

1. how to initialize Planning area?

--> You can schedule a background job to initialize your planning area.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/8f/9d6937089c2556e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm

2.What are the other duties do we need to do in order to intializes all the DP

planning objects?

--> Not that clear can you elaborate some more?

3.Do we need to initializes planning book as well?

--> Planning books are dependent on Planning area so NO you dont have to initialize the planning books.

Hope this helps
