error:service 'sapmsC11' unknown when I logon my SAP IDES by logon group

Hi guys:

I am so surprised that I have add sapmsC11 3600/TCP to the file:C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services But I also get the error:service 'sapmsC11' unknown when I logon my SAP IDES by logon group.

Could you help me out

Hi Filip:

still error,could not connect to the message server (RC=9),and detail error description error:service 'sapmsC11' unknown .but I add the sapmsC11 3600/tcp in the service file.

If any other configeratin in my new IDES C11 system is not ready ,could you please help me out?.I can establish direct connection to this server ,but can't establish connection by logon group.

make sure that sapmsC11 is not the last line of your HOSTS file. if possible, press ENTER a few times after adding your line, then save it and try again.

you might need to reboot your server.

Hi,

direct connection uses port 3200, message server 3600.

Try to manually add message server information to sapmsg.ini and logon directly from sapgui.exe using server name.

I think firewall setting is ok,because I can logon sap by direct connecton rather than by logon group.
