Office Control in WDA onSave/onClose do not work

Former Member

Hi!

I am using the office control in a WDA application to work with MS word documents. I have defined methods fo onClose and onSave, but nor closing the word window neither pressing save button in word neither Ctrl.+S initiate a server roundtrip (the methods mentioned above are never called). Instead the document is saved locally in C:\TEMP. What do I do wrong?

Initially an empty document is displayed. I do not work in ExpertMode.

Additionally the control seems to ingore my settings for width and height; it always opens itself small altough I've given 800px for width and height?

Anybody experienced in this control?

Any help/tip welcome.

Regards,

Volker

Hi Volker,

Can you tell me how you solved the issue or if you can send me the code that you have used. Actually I also need to use the

Office Control to display the excel sheet on the UI. The requirement is that the data will be fetched from a database table and

the same has to be displayed on UI in form of excel sheet and also if some changes are done on the excel and the same is

saved, the changes should be reflected in the database.

Is it possible, using the Office Control UI property?

Thanks,

Solved it on my own. Obviously Office 2000 is not officially supported by SAP. I have found another way ...
