About Scripts

Hi all,

I need a sample script which could do the following in my production system, which is on HP-UX and Oracle10g

1)Stop sap and oracle through STOPSAP command

2)start sap and oracle through STATSAP command

3)Then start the offline backup through brbackup

Presently during the offline backup only the DB stops then once the backup is completed, the DB comes up.So the buffers of SAP dont get cleared. For this i need the above script.

sorry,

why do you want to clear the SAP buffers?

It is totally illogic ( I sound like spock )

also the order you want to do it is also illogic:

>1)Stop sap and oracle through STOPSAP command

>2)start sap and oracle through STATSAP command

>3)Then start the offline backup through brbackup

if you <b>really, really, really</b> have a good reason to stop SAP for the offline backup, then start it <b>AFTER </b> you have finished the backup

Hi Fidel,

Stopping SAP is the only point here, starting can be very well done after the offline backup.

I just wanted a sample script so that i could work on it.Anyways i worked on it.

Thanks once again.
