Mandatory fields in customer master data

Hi All,

I want to some fileds in customer master as mandatory. I would like to know how to do this.

hi ,

This can be done by using account groups

menu path: SPRO->IMG->Logistics general->Business Partner->Customer->Define account groups

here u will find account groups with which you will create cust master

eg; 0001-sold to party->double click->ther u will find FIELD STATUS in which General data / Comp Code data/sales area data are avaliable-> click the one which u want make field mandatory

hi

you can add fields mandatory in CMD even by using the

<b>OVT0</b>

IMG--logistics general-business parner--customers--control---define account groups and fileld selection for customers

and in the screen "change view customer account groups overview" double click on your account group and from in the field status click on general data or compan code data or sales area data where you can make fields as mandatory or suppress

hi,

juz follow this rule. u can maintain fields as mandatory in the customer master.

basically customer master is controlled by the account groups and partner functions.

for that u have to go create the account groups and number changes and assign it to ur account groups.

1. IMG=FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING=ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE AND ACCOUNT PAYABLE=MASTERDATA= CUSTOMER= PREPARATIONS OFACCOUNT GROUP LAYOUT FOR THE CUSTOMER. here u can see the data of account groups for all kinds of customers like sold to party, goods recipients (ship to party), payer and bill to party and so on. these partner functions are mandatory in every organisation.

Ex: juz click 0001 and copy it as ZZ01 - sold to party and here u can see three kind of data like general data, sales area data, company code data. juz double click it in general data and u will find there are some fields u can see

1. supress

2.mandatory

3.optional &

4.display. what u r maintianing fields here, the same fields u can see while u r creating the customer master data thru XD01.

2.UNDER SAME MENU U CAN FIND THE DEFINE AND ASSIGN NUMBER RANGES.

3. PARTNER DETERMINATION PROCEDURE TO BE CREATED FOR THE CUSTOMER.

IMG=SD=BASICFUNCTIIONS=PARTNER DETERMINATION=SETUP PARTNER DETERMINATION FOR THE CUSTOMER HEADER LEVEL.

a. define and assign the partner determination procedures.

b. after creating that assign it to ur account groups. these assignment is useful for determining the partner functions in the organisation. where u can see this in customer master under sales area data as partner functions option.

Hi,

Go to transaction code OBD2 - select your account group - double click on it. Now you will see "field status"

There will be 3 tabs:

General data

Company code data

Sales area data

Double click on General data the system will show you the screens inside it

<b>Address

Communication

Control

Marketing

Payment transactions

Unloading points

Contact person

Foreign trade</b>

Double click on Address the system will show you all fields and in front of that you will see columns for <b>suppress</b>, <b>Req. entry</b>, <b>Opt. en</b>try, <b>Display</b>.

Select the required field which you want to make mandatory and in fron tof that click on <b>Req. entry</b>.

Now when you create the sales order the fields you marked as req. entry will be shown as mandatory in XD01.

In OVT0 ( path: spro>img>Logistics General> Business Partner> Customer> control>Define Account Groups and Field Selection for Customers)

Select the account group of your Customer ( e.g. for sold to party acct grp is 0001)

<b>Customer Account Group</b>:The account group is a classifying feature within customer master records. The account group determines:

1. The number range

2. whether no range is external or internally determined.

3. Field selection of the customer master data screen.

<b>How will you know your customers acct grp</b> ? Simply goto SE16 --> give table name as KNA1 # enter --> give the customer number --> execute. In the output note the entry against field- Account Group ( KNA1-KTOKD). This is your customer account group. Check it in OVT0.

In OVT0, you will find three subheadings under Header "Field Status".

1. general data

2. Company code data

3. Sales area data

Double click General data --> You will find the sub headings --- Address, Communication, ...etc. These subheadings are nothing but the tab pages that you find under the Customer master data screen.

Similarly you will find the tab pages -- Account management,Payment transactions ..etc under Company code data

and

sales, shipping , billing,...etc tab pages under Sales data.

Double click on any of the sub headers to enetr into the Field settings for that Tab page. Here you can make the fields <b>Required, Optional, Supressed or Display</b>
