multi-level ATP scenario in APO - Is this possible?

Hi,

I have a requirement where in BOM , the main item should do a R/3 ATP (MTO) . The components should go though APO forecast check. Some of the components should do a stock check in APO.

Also, there is one component which is both MTS and MTO? Is this sccenario is workable?

thanks,

ashish

Hi,

The first thing is possible...You can have R3 ATP check only for main material and for componrnts the forecast check. And it is also possible to combine any of ATP check methods with very few constraints.

I don't know about the second thing, Whether we can have a component with MTS and MTO...

Hi Jay

You can combine ATP check methods in check instructions.

Check Instructions tell the system to use a particular ATP check method for a given location product.

SPRO-APO-GATP-GENERALSETTINGS-Check Instructions.

Here you can chose the combinations of basic PAC, check against forecast, Product Allocations as you first step second step third step.

These check instructions are location-product dependent.

Hi Ashish

For your scenario( BOM in sales order for ATP check) , use

separate check instructions for each of your header and component materials.

But note that the requirements class(check mode) for the header product will be transferred from R3 to APO. Even if you change it in APO, system will read the check mode from R3.

So you give appropriate requirements class for the main item to do MTO ATP check. To have ATP check for MTO products, use business event AE to make a check instruction.

For components, use a separate check instructions( check mode and business event) that has settings for check against forecast as the only check method.

For other components, use another check instruction which has settings for doing basic PAC only.

Hope this information helps.
