Hi! All,

i am facing a very strange problem.

I have developed a WebDynpro application and it's running fine But when i am looking that application in Portal by giving serverName instead of IP Address, it's giving me page can't be displayed,But when i put the IP Address, i am able to see the Deployed application in portal.

one of the solution may be to make an entry in Host.ini file but a lots of user is using this application and i can't say all of them to make such entry.

can anybody suggest any idea to get an acceptable solution??

Thanks,

Mithileshwar

Hi Mithileshwar,

Try doing this and let me know if it works for you or not.

In your browser

Tools>Internet Options>Connections-->Lan Settings

Check Bypass proxy server for local addresses.

Sahu,

If all of your users in same network you need not to have all the entries in the host file. If you users are working from different network domains you should definetly maintain the entries into host file. Otherwise you should make the server available in public domain. Contact your network team for support.

Hi! Abhilash,

Thanks for your quick reply. All my users are in the same network but still they are not able to see the WebDynpro application by server Name,they can see the application by putting IP Address only.

You can try this option, I have faced similar problem..

In the browser menu

- Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings ->

- Select proxy server Advanced button

- Add the host file in Exceptions box.

If you still face problem try PING or TRACERT command from command line and send the trace report to your network admin.
