NW2004s SR2 Developer Workspace Installation problems

Hi Experts,

I am trying to install NW2004s SR2 on windows(2 GB RAM) workstation machine with MaxDB database. We were facing problem at Step 15 of 40 and not able to progress. This step consists of Creating Database Schema. I don't see any error or warning at this step even after 2hrs in Step 15.

Need your help to resolve the problem.

Hi Madhan,

Don't use any special character in your password that you provide while installation.

Madhan, This sounds an awful lot like the problem I experienced. There was a bug in the installation that required you to set the timezone to GMT+01:00.

I had to stop the installation, reset the timezone and then restart it.That fixed it for me.

I'll go look for the details but I'll bet that's what the problem is.

I also had to decrease the Xms and Xmx settings of the server node to 768M.

You can do this by changing the settings in the config tool ->

instance_<id> -> server_<id> -> General tab.

Good luck. I had a heck of a time getting it installed but it worked eventually. Don't give up. : )
