hi all,
can we do file 2 rfc with out using bpm?
regards,keerethi
Hi Keerthi,
YOu can start with Arpit Seth's Blog (1st blog mentioned below), which is quite comprehensive, for this scenario.
Following blogs can be helpful for you :
- File to RFC

-RFC Adapter:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/33/c6e63b60c25767e10000000a11402f/content.htm
- Maintain RFC destination centrally

Hi Keerthi,
This scenario can be very well done without BPM( BPMis required where stateful messaging is required, with some performance issues ).
I think you can follow some of the numerous blogs available for File Sender and then RFC Reciever.
1. For file sender: Create a DT, MT, MI
2. For RFC Reciever : Write a RFC ( if standard RFC is not available), Import it into XI and then use it as a MI.
3. Do the required message mapping and interface mapping.
4. Import the scneario in ID, do the necessary steps. While creating a CC do remember to use the various options provided in File and RFC adpater.
Hope It helps you.!!

yes we can do it without bpm.. you have just have to make your RFC call synchronous... for that you will a single outbound synchronous interface ..
in message mapping you have to use two mapping..
1. map source data to input of RFC .
2. map RFC result to target data.
there will be only one interface mapping as this one will have request and response mapping ( request mapping points to message mappping no. 1 and response mapping points to message mapping no. 2).

hi keerti,
we go for BPM when we want multple message splitting or when we have mutiple processing steps need tt take place.
when we have a direct mapping between file and RFC can just go with the scenario with IR objects, file and RFC adapters .

Hi,
When i need to acces an any file with FTP or SFTP for example to extract some information and finish in a RFC, i normally use JavaMapping and use FTP or SFTP there, in java code.
