System measurement using USMM transaction

Hi Guys,

Does any one have experience in using the USMM transaction for system measurement?

Pls throw some light on this Transaction and also about the purpose of using USMM t-code. If any body has any document related to this T-code pls share the link.

Hi,

This is used to generate Statics, measurement of SAP systems to know the no: users, license, Installed components,List of clients,Users with SSCR key,

Goto tcode USMM and press the System Measurement button and it runs approximately 8 jobs in background.After completion of jobs in background go to USMM and get the <SID>fax.txt by executing the button Report and

<SID>stat.txt by executing the button Measurement statistics.Goto SE38 and execute the report YSLIR101 by giving variant.

Generally, transaction USMM (and LICENSE_ADMIN) is used as part of the process to classify users before sending information to SAP for licensing. The process I have used is to run USMM, classify the users according to specific types, and then use LICENSE_ADMIN to send information to SAP (which generally audits the licensing once a year).
