how to find host name and host port

Hi,

I would like to ask that how to find host name and host port as for default.

My knowledge on computer is limited,so pls specify where or what to type clearly as i wish to logon into sap either using sap gui or visual admin...

Server name: in SAP, use t-code OS01 (OH ESS ZERO ONE) and click APPLICATION SERVER: view server;

click CHANGE VIEW: view IP address as well.

T-code: SMICM (enter /n when not on initial screen in GUI, so here, enter /nSMICM): select GOTO from top-most menu bar and select SERVICES; find HTTP, SMTP, and HTTPS port numbers.

i too have the same proble. during 3rd last step of installation i.e. stsrting sap gui, it asks me for SAP INSTALLATION GUI

installation host[textbox] Port[textbox]

i have tried with localhost & 192.168312.1 (ip given to loopback adapter)

but it doesnot help. if i cancel, installer exits.

One more thing, i have not installed sap gui till now coz in my installation guide it is written that when the installation is complete then only install sap gui 6.4

so do i need to install sap gui 6.4 first?

Thanx for your info.However,an error occur as :

The error is cannot open connection on host: IP address and port 50004.

Please help me to rectify my problem.Besides,how to find the host on my comp??

in your server got to cmd prompt and run the command host

this will give you the name of the host

Pl explain your prob a bit more to help

hi,

if u have installed sap in ur system u can find the application server name, system id and system number from the sap console management.

host name is ur system name ::xxxxx

server name is the 3 character name u can find it in the console.

according to ur sap installation u can find the system no.. ( 00 )default.
