Problem with Frontend printing access method G

At the moment we use Frontend printing access method F (SAPLPD) and are in the process of implementing Frontend printing access method G (SAPSprint). We have defined an output device in our dev environment with access method G. However we have two problems with it:

1- When the windows printing dialogue is displayed, all the options are disabled (grayed out). Even the cancel button is disabled and users have no option but to print. The only option that users have is to select a printer.

2- When printing a PO for the first time, the print works fine. However if it is reprinted from spool request, the print job does not start. I'm aware that front end printing does not work with background jobs, but this works with access method F (SAPLPD) which is frond end printing too.

I would appreciate any help.

Hi,

Well there are several notes on the service marketplace addressing problems with access method "G" like note 821519, 841175, 868913 and 901244.

However regardless of the problem it is always recommended to use the newest sap kernel (Backend), be on the highest support package level (Backend), and off curse on newest patch level of the SAP GUI (Frontend).

So try check the notes, and the notes related to them, check the kernel level of your backend, and the patchlevel of you GUI.
