What is the difference between transit time and transportation lead time?

hi

The time needed to transport goods to a customer.

The transit time depends on the route.

transportation lead time is the time nedded to prepare the goods to be transported

like making the goods packed and loading to a lorry

Transit time--is the time required to ship a delivery to the customer.

transportation lead time----time required to organise the shipment.

transpotaion lead time

is the time taken to arrange for a del i.e

your picking / packing and loadin time ususally this is done after material available date and ready for shipping point .....

means if fpr picking and packing it takes 1 days and for loading mat at shiping pint i takes 2 days then ur transpotation lead time wld b 3 days

transit time is whr is the time taken for the matreial dispatched from ur shipping point to reach the ship to party usually ur route.

Transit time is time taken to reach the goods from plant to customer

Transportation time is the time taken to arrange the trans port Exam--->truck

container to carry the goods

Hi..

Transit Time-Time taken to reach the product at customers site/hand.

Transportaion Lead Time-Time taken to schedule containers/Shpping Comapnies work etc..

Trasportation lead time is the time required for preparing the goods for transportation .
