the implementation of SAP SD module at the company doest have any link to the distributors software.

however some of the companies like HLL are installing SAP B1 at their distributors place which has seamless integration with SAP r/3.

Some of the companies also use dos based software which is integrated with their software.

Most FMCG companies follow the following Distribution process.

Forwarding agent -

Distributor----

Retailer.

Forwarding agent and Distributor may or may not use the software secified by the companybelong/specified by the company.

retailer generally doesent have a software for ordering.(Except large ones )

I hope this solves your query.

Hello friend,

Mostly we are using differnt- differnt software for fmcg industry. where we have distributed system and we creat interfaces between them. These interfaces could be in between SAP to SAP or SAP to non-SAP. for these interface we use IDOC and tool might be EDI or ALE.

These tool are used for automatic transfer of data from one system to another with any combination as SAP to SAP or else. Here the create a link between system to transfer the data through IDOC.

Here ALE is a SAP tool for interface, so this could be used only in case of SAP to SAP interface. And EDI could be used for any combination.

hi

c it completely depends on the distributors software systems..

most of the order u get from the distributors is thru Xcel sheet..

sometime there are other erp products which r used by the distributors.. where in nowa days u tend to find many erp products which can directly be integrated with the sap system .. a customer can place his own purchase order online from his system and the oders are directly posted into the sap system same as if posted from the sap system.. the order number evrything is generated as in normal system and there are also instances that the third party softwares are so well intergrated that they even confirm the customer abt the order placing thru email or if the location of business and customer is same then an sms to the customers mobile can also be sent....

Reward if Useful

Thanx & regards

Lot of distributors use Focus 5.0, Most of the cases all distributor will send the stock position to the company end of the day, so daily morning company person wioll see the stocks , if it cross minimum quantity they will bill. IN colgate the own software will provide to the distributors. Lot of rural distributors dont have PC's they will order to endusers by phone or fax..

Hope u got your answer
