sapmmc returns "Access denied 80070005"

Hi colleagues

I have a WAS Java 6.40 system running on w2003.

For unknown reason we are unable to stop or start the J2EE engine via the SAPMMC GUI. Regardless we receive this "start or stop failed Access denied 80070005" - error.

SAP Note 142100 was not helpful so far.

Even giving Everyone Full control to X:\usr and subfolder wasn't a success.

How to determine where the error comes from?

same happens if we try "sapstart pf=..." from commandline!!

Hi Patrik,

Did you check in the Event Viewer, System Log for errors?

Maybe if you restart the system the problem solves, have you tried this?
