I'm trying to execute my first WebDynpro with a JCO connection and I get the following message:

Failed to get JCo destination 'WD_FLIGHTLIST_MODELDATA_DEST': Error while obtaining JCO connection

I'm not sure, but I believe it is because of the settings within the SLD. Keeping in mind I'm trying to access our backend system, do I have to select the ABAP radio button under persistence on the server settings? Also, do I need to set up the data supplier bridge?

Figured it out. I recreated the destination on the portal. Don't know why it quit working.

Hi Steve,

Just look at following post for configuring SLD.

After configuring you need to create JCO connections which you have specified in your application at the following location.

Hi Steve,

Yes you should do that.

1.Log on to SLD

http://localhost:50000/sld

type in the user id and password

2.Click on Administration link

3.Click on the Data Supplier Bridge

Click “Start Bridge” Button

4.After that do whatever i had told in the link mentioned above by Santhosh Chandran

Dont forget to give permissions also

Go to \usr\sap\J2E\jc00\j2ee\admin\Visual.bat

go to SLD data supplier go to cmclient generation settings

and give the permission for all with lcr and webdynpro domain.. These permissions enable us to create JCO connections in SLD, Start SLD server etc.

hope this helps you
