Hi All,
I was trying to carry out a copy of our PROD system to QAS using SCC9. I carried out a resource check initially to test the copy and i came up with the error message below. Please can anyone explain help as i have been unable tp proceed. Thanks in anticipation.
:
Error message:
The table definitions differ between the systems. These differences mean
that a copy of the data can cause a data loss and system
inconsistencies.
Differences occur when further developments were not transported or were
copied between different maintenance levels.
System Response
A client copy cannot be made between the systems.
Procedure
Transport all the developments of table structures between the systems
using the Transport Organizer and bring your system to the same
development level.[[/i]
To explain the message with an example,
You have a table ZTAB that has 5 fields in PRD, that conatins data.
In development someone changes ZTAB to have 6 fields (for some new functionality), they transport this to QAS for testing.
If you make your client copy before this change is applied to PRD the copy will extract the 5 fields for this table from PRD and try to import them into a table with 6 fields. This difference in structure causes the error.
Find the name of the table, compare the structure between you PRD and QAS systems then fine who owns the transport with the changes. These will need to be either backed-out or applied to PRD for your copy to work.
Regards,
Nick
