Quantity Updating in Material Master Record

Specifies that the material is managed on a quantity basis in the material master record for the relevant valuation area.

Value Updating in Material Master Record

Specifies that the material is managed on a value basis in the material master record for the valuation area concerned.

The values are updated in the respective G/L accounts at the same time.

The value updating and the quantity updating are the fields found in the t code oms2

in that t code oms2 first of all click on the plant/valuation area and then click on the qualtity and value updating

then chek the fields

The difference between the two fields are as follows

Quantity updating is the field which updateds the quanityt of the material when ever there is change in the quantity of the stock of particulr material

Value updateing is the field which updates the value of the mateial with res[pect to te financial point of view

for example

when a particular customer orders for the stock of material from te particular plant then delivery created and the stock of the order quantity shipped to te customer and the value in the plant is updated

for example if the customer pays some amount for the delivered stock and thisis updated in the accounting assignment through the value updated field

Hello Venkat,

Value Updating - GL accounts are updated as per the goods movement. U create material master and mainatin the costs in Accounting view. As per the material type.....when the materials are moved, accounting entries are updated automatically based upon the movement type.

Quantity Updating - Only qunatities are updated on material movements within te plants.
