DB Reorg and PSAPROLL space

Former Member

Hi

We are planning to performa DB reorg using SAPDBA in our production

system. During our preparatory phase we found that our largest table

GLPCA is having a size of around 6GB and our PSAPROLL table space size

is around 11.8GB...

Is that mandatory that the PSAPROLL space should be twice as big as the

largest table that to be reorganized? Also, pls confirm that whether it

is OK to carry on the DB reoorg with less PSAPROLL space than twice the

size of GLPCA table?

regards,

VInodh.

Hello Vinod,

I hope its not mandatory to double it.

What you can do it start the reorg and keep an eye on PSAPROLL.

As soon as you feel it needs a Datafile to be added or extended you can do that.

Thats the better option. Reorg will organize your tablespaces in a proper way I think it should not consume too much of a space. Adding too much of datafile to a single tablespace may not help add as much as it requires when the process is on.

Thanks & Regards
