Hi all,
What is a web moethod? Is it something similar to XI and can be used to develop interfaces? How do we develop interfaces using web methods? Are these web methods used in XI for interface development?
Please give me a clear idea on web mothods.
Thanks In Advance
Hello Rambabu,
The most cost effective way is to use Http services between XI and webmethods.
With Regard,
Raju

webMethods Integration Server is one of the core application servers in the webMethods Fabric platform. It is a Java based, multiplatform enterprise Integration engine supporting the execution of services to perform the integration logic such as data mapping and communication with other systems.
The Integration Server supports java, c/c++ programming languages for writing services as well as a proprietary graphical language known as flow. It also supports graphical configuration of 3rd party system operations via the concept of "Adapter services".
One of the big selling points of the Integration Server was the graphical form of coding using flow to perform mapping and other common integration/B2B tasks that are tedious in conventional, text based languages. This allows rapid development and intuitive creation of mapping logic (a large part of a typical enterprise integration project).
The Integration Server exposes its administration, configuration and auditing facilities to the user via an HTML web interface.

Hi,
What is a web moethod?
webMethods is also a middleware technology that specializes in business process integration software for the enterprise.
Initially WEBMethods and SAP colleborated and created a joint venture product called SAP Business Connector.
Then SAP Created its own middlewear called XI.
Webmethods have set of adapters to connect with SAP so at present there is no direct connection between SAP XI and webmethods.
They both access SAP tables using RFC and IDOC.
This thread will give some hints-
go through this thread..it gives diff bet XI and webmethods,
THis gives how XI gonna communicate with Webmethods,
hope, this will give a fair idea.
regards
