Hi guy,
I installed the latest SAPOSCOL (saposcol.exe), but when I bring up the SAP again, the SAPOSCOL falled back to the previous version installed, putting the latest version that I just installed into temp file (saposcol.exe.tmp)
I wonder if I've done anything wrong during the installation. I basically downloaded the latest version (saposcol.car), extracted it, and replaced the older saposcol with this new version.
Could anyone advise me what has happened or what should I do about it?
Thanks, I shall reward points to anyone contributing an idea
the start profile is ususally located in
usr/sap/<SID>/SYS\profile
DIR_CT_RUN is one of the variables, if you open the profile - you will understand....
usually it points to something like usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe\uc\i386 etc.
If you have sapcpe line in start profile, the executables are copied during each system start from DIR_CT_RUN to DIR_EXECUTABLE

I have the same problem...I have updated the same on all the hosts but still the problem persists....
Collector Versions
running COLL 20.93 700 - 20.56 NT 07/01/17
dialog COLL 20.94 700 - 20.59 NT 07/05/25
The running & dialog versions are different :(. The dialog once is the latest once.
I have also tied saposcol -d and then KILL AND LEAVE AND LAUNCH. No progress.
It continues to give the same problem "COuld not allocate shared memory"
FYI one XI instance and netweaver instance is running on our WIndows NT5.0 X64 bit server
Kindly help me.

Solved by updating the SAPOSCOL in all hosts

> /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/
check your start profile, if there is line like "sapcpe", copy the saposcol.exe to DIR_CT_RUN.

It depends, how the system was installed (or if it was maybe upgraded).
Check
Note 919046 - Upgrade to the New Instance-Specific Directory Structure
if you have that new directory structure. In that case you need to put the binary in a different place.

To where are you extracting and copying the file?
