BOM

Hello All,

I have created a BOM through CS01 with usage "3- Universal". However when I tried to create a SO, BOM did not explode. Subsequently went and created a new BOM with the same material code, with BOM usage as " 5-Sales and Distribution". And now the BOM is correctly exploding in SO.

Similarly when the BOM is created with " 5-Sales and Distribution" and does not gets exploded in MM/PP work area.

My understanding is, when a BOM is created with "universal" usage it should work effectively in all the areas viz SD,MM,PP so on and so forth.

Can you please let me know are there any more settings needs to be done so that when a BOM is created with "Universal" usage , BOM should get exploded in all the areas correctly.

while creating if it activate in sales order(sd), you have to activate sd relevent against each item in BOM.This can be done activation in BOM master data or if you select usage 5 it will automatically activatefor all items
