Hi User,

I completely agree with what Sharma has said, there is no way that you can hide fields for users in DM. But the other alternative i can give u is, dont give them access to DM and just export the fields and data to excel sheet which you want them to be visible to users and give access to them. In this way your data can be secure.

And to give access to particular you use the Console's Admin column to define roles and create users and assgn them with the required ones.

Hi,

For making fields editable/non-editable for a user in Data Manager, you will have to set table level access privileges for that particular user in MDM Console.

Currently there is no provision for hiding fields for a particular table in MDM. At max you can make those fields as non-editable(Read-Only) for a particular user.

Goto MDM Console --><Repository> >Admin>Roles.

Here select the Role of the user for whom you want to make the fields as non-editable. Now select the<b>"Tables and Fields"</b> tab in the lower pane. Here you will get a list of all the tables in the repository.

Now select the main table(as per your requirement) and expand it. Here you will get a list of all the fields in the main table. You can then set the <b>'Access' option as 'Read-only'</b> for the required field, for the Role(user) for which you want to make the fields as non-editable. In this way you can make some fields editable while others non-editable for particular users(Roles).

Let me know if this helped your cause. Please mark helpful answers.
