Hi,

You can do RFC Lookup withinh UDF.

suppose you want search for Mateial number in MATNR table...

and assign corresponding values based upon lookup value to the target field.

You can also use Jco to connect to r/3.

But it will take a lot of memory.

Regards,

Akshay.

LOOKUPS:

How to Perform DBLook-ups from XI Utilizing J2EE JDBC:

Mapping programs (message, Java, and XSLT mappings) are executed on the Integration Server, where they can access the global value-mapping table (see Executing Value Mappings) and mapping runtime constants. In addition, calls to other application systems are sometimes necessary to meet the following requirements:

● To get read access to application system data in the mapping program

● To call existing mapping routines in the application system

In what all are the adapters are we using this lookups?

The API for mapping lookups supports access using the RFC, JDBC, and SOAP adapters

How we have to create the lookups?

Check this weblogs with some screenshots on how to achieve this:

XI lookups : When you want some data from R3 or DB into mapping , then you need to use some kind of user exit like Lookup, it will stop the execution process and goto respective database and get the data and back to mapping , this kind of machanism.

We will use DB lookups for any other database like DB,Oracle,SQL, MS Access..etc.

We will use RFC lookup for SAP R3 .
