Hi ,
How to use acknowledgements in designing and configuriration a scenario.
I need basics of acknowledgements in XI.
Can they be used in Asynchronous scenarios also.

it depends on the receiver system;
BPM is one way to req. for acknowledegments

yes you can get acknowledgement in XI.
for IDoc Ack - https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f6d2d790-0201-0010-9382-b50...
else for other scenarios you will have to use BPM and request for ack in the send step -
