Hi Friends,
I am new to BW Secuirty. I Have a fair idea of R3 security. Could some one give me an overview of what the difference between them both are?
Also in R3 transaction SU53 is used to see last transaction which was not run Successfully, This doesnt work in BW. Could someone tell which transaction will be used to do the same activity as SU53 in BW?
Useful answers will be rewarded.
Regards,
Praveen

First of all BW is much different as you will have to create your OWN authorisation Objects. PFGC is much teh same as in R/3.
When using the bex analyser the pop-up window the gives the error tells a lot of how to solve teh authorisation issue, so no need for SU53. The only thing to do is:
1 create copy of user that had the error
2 run report with that UID
3 read the pop up solve the issue en rerun the repoert untill sucessfull!
I would suggest you to go to the SAP BW security course!

BW security is very different from R/3; aside from taking the course, I suggest looking at the links below for the basic authorization concept in BW.
su53's don't generally "work" in BW like R/3.

Keep in mind that within BI (latest version of BW), there are lots of new concepts, from the new backend authorization concept of analysis authorizations that are used in conjunction with the standard security authorizations (maintained via PFCG) and reporting and portal concepts.
The new BI security features can be found here.
