SAPinst export of Oracle database

Former Member
0 Kudos

I want to export the database of a SAP HR 4.7/Oracle 9.2.0.3.0/HP-UX instance with the sapinst tools and am running into issues.

The view log has the following content:

Is there a way to stop the started export and start all over with the export via sapinst ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The sapinst was started with root and sapadm.

The export on command line with sapadm.

I think that's the problem.

"sapadm" has apparently not the correct environment set.

Can you try as user "accadm"?

Think i was not clear enough.

Manually executing the export command with userID sapadm works.

It is possible to set another userID via an variable.

Do you know which variable this is ?

The system takes the value from the instance name, so if you use ACC as instance name, the user to be used is "accadm".

I don't know, why the system chooses sapadm instead.

The userID sapadm is in directory /home/home1/sapadm/accadm

The userID accadm is in directory /home/home1/sapadm/

It's SAP HR system, so assume the reason to build this has to do with security.

When manually executing the export command with sapadm on command line and correct exe directory then this works.

Think i got problems with connecting to the database, because of log of R3ldctlExport.log.

Which user did you give when sapinst asked you? accadm? or sapadm?

I have to admit, I never had such kind of problems you're dealing with and it's pretty difficult to assist...

Here's the log of R3ldctlExport.log:

The user who's executing the export is usually <sid>adm, I don't know what the user "sapadm" is for.

Can you execute that command as use accadm on command line manually?

Default value at “Location of Instance Files” is /sapmnt where the additional information provides “The instance will be installed under /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/.... Common directories will be linked to <SAP System Mount Directory>/<SAPSID>/....”.

Based on this info I used the value "/usr/sap/ACC", but now adjusted and restarted the sapinst with new value /usr/sap for instance directory.

Now i receive the before error message again:

MOS-01012 PROBLEM: '/usr/sap/ACC/exe/R3ldctl -l ./R3ldctlExport.log -p /mnt/sapexport/exp/DATA/ ' returned with '2' which is not a defined as a success code.

In the thread it is advised to start the export on commandline with <SID>adm.

This looks to be starting well with userID sapadm, but normally the SAPinst has to be started with root.

In my SAP system there's a userID sapadm and accadm, so when SAPinst starts with root then it switched during the export to different users.

My <SID> is ACC so that i got the feeling the SAPinst is using the userID accadm and not sapadm.

Is it possible to set another userID via an variable ?

sapinst does the necessary switch to the user.

What do you see in R3ldctlExport.log and R3ldctl.log?

When start the SAPINST with <sid>adm and adjust the permissions and ownership on SAPINST_DIR and below directories i get the message:

MUT-02044 The following paths expected but not found in the library path environment variable (SHLIB_PATH) /usr/sap/ACC/ACC/exe/.

As you could see in the environment variables, there's no value for /usr/sap/ACC/ACC/exe/ set.

Already tried with symbolic links and adjusting the environment variable SHLIB_PATH, but shouldn't SAPINST look for /usr/sap/ACC/exe/run ?

Where does the SAPINST is getting the variable to check for /usr/sap/ACC/ACC/exe/ ?

I think it´s because you gave "/usr/sap/ACC" when sapinst asked for the instance directory (instead of /usr/sap).

Fully agree, environment also confuses me

Confirm for ORACLE_HOME and ORA_NLS33 parameter.

Here's the environment variables for oracle:

oraacc:

joule:oraacc 22> env | grep ORA

dbms_type=ORA

ORACLE_PSRV=ACC

ORACLE_SID=ACC

ORACLE_BASE=/opt/oracle

ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/92064

ORA_NLS33=/opt/oracle/92064/ocommon/nls/admin/data

sapadm:

joule:sapadm> env | grep ORA

ORACLE_PSRV=ACC

ORACLE_BASE=/oracle

ORACLE_SID=ACC

ORA_NLS33=/opt/oracle/92064/ocommon/nls/admin/data

ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/92064

dbms_type=ORA

accadm:

joule:accadm 21> env | grep ORA

dbms_type=ORA

ORACLE_PSRV=ACC

ORACLE_SID=ACC

ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/92064

ORACLE_BASE=/oracle

Markus, you're correct.

I checked the system: status and machine type field to be able to see 32 or 64 bit (with Linux ia64 clearly to see if 64 bit).

The file /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/R3load gives:

joule:oraacc 25> ./R3load -v

sapparam: sapargv( argc, argv) has not been called.

sapparam(1c): No Profile used.

sapparam: SAPSYSTEMNAME neither in Profile nor in Commandline

This is ./R3load version R6.20/V1.2

Oh yeah - you are still using a 6.20 kernel which is now unsupported for more than 2 years (see Note 803429 - Desupport 6.20 kernel)

To get the copy process smooth I really suggest:

- upgrade to the latest download compatible kernel (6.40)

- upgrade R3load, R3ldctl and R3szchk additionally to the lastest versions

After that you could try to export the database using R3load, if that does not work, I suggest upgrading your system to an actual Oracle patchset.

You can try, of course, to use your current version but keep in mind that the tools, especially R3load, are VERY old and you may or may not be able to export the database successfully. The new R3load contains many, many fixes that you might need to export.

Hello Markus,

The kernel is upgraded to 6.40 and could start the export of the database.

saproot@joule:/usr/sap/ACC/ACC/exe# ./R3load -v

sapparam: sapargv( argc, argv) has not been called.

sapparam(1c): No Profile used.

sapparam: SAPSYSTEMNAME neither in Profile nor in Commandline

This is ./R3load version R6.40/V1.4

Compiled Mar 17 2007 01:09:10

Now i get the error message:

ERROR 2007-09-07 10:11:24

MOS-01012 PROBLEM: '/usr/sap/ACC/ACC/exe/R3ldctl -l ./R3ldctlExport.log -p /mnt/sapexport/exp/DATA/ ' returned with '2' which is not a defined as a success code.

The file R3ldctl.log is empty.

Only related message i could find is Note 516246 - INST: System Copy for SAP Systems based on SAP Web AS 6.20.

SOLUTION:

1. Exit SAPINST.

2. Set the environment variable HOME to the home directory of the SAP system administrator <sapsid>adm (for example, with command

setenv HOME /home/<sid>adm

if the home directory of the SAP system administrator is '/home' and '<sapsid>' is the SAP system ID (in lower-case letters)).

3. Start SAPinst again.

This is for an SAP DB / MaxDB and i got Oracle and also i start sapinst with root.

Rgds,

Gidion

Thinking that the problem is related to environment variables, here's the result of command “env | grep ACC” for following users:

root:

SHLIB_PATH=/opt/oracle/92064/lib:/usr/sap/ACC/ACC/exe/

sapadm:

Admittely, your environment looks really confusing for me

ORACLE_HOME points to /opt/oracle/92064?

Do you have any ORA_NLS33 parameters set (for <SID>adm)?

When executing "file $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle" i get the message:

/opt/oracle/92064/bin/oracle: ELF-64 executable object file - PA-RISC 2.0 (LP64)

When executing "file /usr/sap/<SID/exe/R3load" i get the message "cannot open".

Under the directory /usr/sap/<SID> I got the directories D05, DVEBMGS04 and SYS, but no exe ?

Which issue will be solved by upgrading from Oracle 9.2.0.3.0 to 9.2.0.8 ?

As you see, your Oracle is a 64bit file so your assumption to use 32bit software is wrong.

What gives

file /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/R3load

Should have the same as the Oracle executable.

Here's the log file /mnt/sapexport/sapinst/SAPAPPL0.log:

Thu Aug 23 22:38:32 2007

MtxInit: 0 0 0

(GSI) INFO: instno = "0420000536"

(TSK) ERROR: file /mnt/sapexport/sapinst/SAPAPPL0.TSK.bck already seems to exist

a previous run may not have been finished cleanly

file /mnt/sapexport/sapinst/SAPAPPL0.TSK possibly corrupted

/appl/acc/sap/ACC/exe/R3load: job finished with 1 error(s)

/appl/acc/sap/ACC/exe/R3load: END OF LOG: 20070823223832

Removed the export directory (everything under /mnt/sapexport/exp) and ./sapinst restarted,but get the message:

(DB) INFO: connected to DB

(TFH) ERROR: Unable to open /mnt/sapexport/exp/DATA/SAPCLUST.TOC

(TFH) ERROR: OS error message: No such file or directory

/appl/acc/sap/ACC/exe/R3load: job finished with 1 error(s)

/appl/acc/sap/ACC/exe/R3load: END OF LOG: 20070828094216

Assume also to remove everything in directory /mnt/sapexport/sapinst, but then also the sapinst is removed.

Is it an option to remove only the TSK and LOG files ?

When I tried this i got the message:

DbSl Trace: Now I'm connected to ORACLE

DbSl Trace: Database NLS settings: AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8DEC

DbSl Trace: Database instance ACC is running on joule with ORACLE version 9.2.0.3.0 since 20070724

How can i get the permission denied when i logon with root ?

Made a copy of the /sapinst directory and put in the old situation, so removed files are back and rerun ./sapinst which encountered an error:

MSC-01015 Process finished with error(s), check log file /mnt/sapexport/sapinst/SAPZCA_D.log

ERROR 2007-08-28 14:17:46

In the log file /mnt/sapexport/sapinst/SAPZCA_D.log the following message appears:

(DB) INFO: connected to DB

(TFH) ERROR: Unable to open /mnt/sapexport/exp/DATA/SAPZCA_D.TOC

(TFH) ERROR: OS error message: Permission denied

/appl/acc/sap/ACC/exe/R3load: job finished with 1 error(s)

/appl/acc/sap/ACC/exe/R3load: END OF LOG: 20070828101101

Downloaded again the DVD 1019679 “CD SAP R3E 4.7x1.10 SR1 SAPINST ORACLE”, but in the HPUX is only a 64 bit version and 32 bit is only for LINUX.

I have HP-UX B.11.00 U 9000/800 for 32 bit, does this mean i got to use the linux version ?

When i start the SAPCAR in any of both directories i get the following message "sh: ./SAPCAR: Execute permission denied." with root ?

Are you really sure you're running a 32bit Oracle on HP-UX 11.00?

Check as user ora<SID> with the command
file $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle
and
file /usr/sap/<SID/exe/R3load
You can't run a Linux binary on HP-UX.

I highly suggest upgrading your Oracle release...

<b>(TSK) ERROR: object CROSS not in /mnt/sapexport/exp/DATA/SAPSSRC.STR</b>

-> the taskfile for table class SAPSSTRC includes an object named CROSS which cannot be found in the database content

-> you should edit the TSK-file, for example by <b>adding an IGN</b> at the end of the corresponding line

and

-> re-start the export using sapinst

also have a look at file <b>R3szchkExport.log</b> if there are any other tables not found in the database...

You are using a VERY old patchset for your database... (9.2.0.8 is actual)

Your logfile says:

MSC-01015 Process finished with error(s), check log file /mnt/sapexport/sapinst/SAPAPPL0.log

Did you check the content of that logfile?

If you want to start the export from scratch, delete the directory /mnt/sapexport/sapinst and restart sapinst.
