content version in CAD integration

Hello All,

From Cad Desktop, I didn't see anything like 'checking in a original as a new version', similar to a content version in DIR.

Could somebody throw some light as to how to achieve it using CDESK .

Hi Sachin,

if you make the necessary settings in the backend (-> Define workstation application -> check content versions and -> Define Document type -> define document status -> check content version) then with every check in a content version is created automatically.

With the function Originals -> Restore you can retrieve a specific content version (CDESK_EXT_ACTIVE in TA CDESK_CUS needs to be active).

Hi Daniel,

im working with Inventor

I have made the changes but still its not working.

the steps are

I check out a Document (IPT) to inventor

make changes

go to CAD View

Check In the document

however at the time of Check in it gets checked in for same version that is replacement of the version, right?

can you please tell me steps...

Hi Niranjan,

if everything was set up correctly (see lnik to help above) there should be a new content version (The version of the DIR is still the same).You can see the content versions in the Originals tab (not in the document data tab) of the DIR.

Now close your file in CAD, open your part in SAP View, press -> originals -> restore -> you should see a list of content versions with timestamps and can decide which content version to load.

<b>Cdesk_cus</b> -

select Inventor -

---

profile added my userid also checked for users----parameter you had specified as X (YES)

in SAP VIEW

when i click on ORIGINAL

nothing like Restore appears...

my entries are

<b>Original</b>

display origianl

display last version

display last released version

only versions with origianls

please help me out..
