Can the same R/3 back/end be defined in two different System Landscape Directories?

Sure can be.

Can you provide more details though on what actually you are trying here.

I am trying to do web dynpro tutorial "Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions". This needs a back-end R/3 system.

In our sandbox environment, there is an ECC v6.0 system (EC6) that when I run SLDAPICUST shows following entry...

XI7_SLD X socw3s1xxxx.netname.com 50000 slduser

I do not have access to the SLD on this host.

The SLD that I do have access to is on the same host as our portal. It is in that SLD that I would like to define this system EC6. But am concerned about some kind of conflict arising from the same R/3 back-end being defined in two SLD's. Possibly when I try to run RZ70.

Thank you for any insight that you might have!

Dean,

Have not used RZ70, but I can assure you that I have had cases when I have manually registered the same R3 system on multiple SLD's and things have worked fine as per requirement.
