More than one shipping point in sales order

Dear All,

Can the sales order have more than one shipping point? If the system determines two different shipping points, will the system accept it?

If not what is the reason?

If yes, what will happen during subsquent functions (delivery creation)?

If the sales order have more than one line item then it can have multiple shipping points.

Multiple shipping points means the sales order will be followed with 2 shipping documents (delivery Documents)or more, meaning delivery split will happen.

If we have more than one line item, for each line item we can have one shipping point , but the delivery split take palce.

where can i find the code in the program which causes this delivery split due to different shipping point ..please specify the function module or the module in the program.

Hi,

You can have more than one shipping point in a sales order provided there are more than one line item.

Means if you have only one item in a sales order then you can have only one shipping point. Like this if you have more items in that order you can have more shipping points for each line item.

But when it comes to delivery, the sales order cant be created in a single delivery. As the shipping points are different for all the line items then those many deliveries will be generated. Here delivery split can be done based on shipping point.

If you have 3 line items with same shipping point and another 2 line items with some other shipping point. Then 2 deliveries can be generated, one for first 3 items and another for second 2 item, provided the delivery date should be same.

You can assign more than one shipping point for one sale order, but while doing delivery, split delivery will happen.

One Sales order can contain more than one shipping point. If you have more than one shipping point then while doing delivery.. you get delivery split because of different shipping point..

An order can have more than one shipping point. The shipping point is at an item level and not at the header level of the order. However while creating a delivery the shipping point is at the header level so the order will be split into multiple deliveries.
