We want to have only a 2 system landscape for our SAP deployment i.e. Within the development server, we shall have development client and quality client and then just have another production server.
Since we have confirmed that this is possible, please let me know the disadvantages in doing so and also if we need to anticipate for trouble shooting.
Thanks & regards,
Tommy.
it is possible.
disavantages:
1. no easy refresh, only client copies from PRD to QAS-client is possible.
2. DEV and QAS will share the exact same programs.
3. and many others.
my recommendation: install 2 systems on 1 server, 1 DEV and 1 QAS (with 1 client each). it will cost you more CPU and more memory but that's about it.

Having QA "clients" is not possible because there are many things, that are cross client:
- ABAP (corrections)
- Data Dictionary
- Cross client customizing
Hence, you can't "test" those things, once you have an ABAP error in one client, you will the same in the other client too.
