Characteristic level authorisation in BI7.0

Hi All,

My client has requirement to restrict the users to seeing only selective infoobjects in the cube. For eg: Out of 10 characteristics in the cube, the user can only see/use 6 of them.

How can we achieve that in RSECADMIN? What is the charact/dimension to use?

Any advice is appreciated.

Another question - is this user allowed to user query designer?

Hi Tomer,

the user is not allowed to use Query Designer. They can only use those characteristics under "Free Characteristics" when they are viewing their report (via Portal).

However, there may be some characteristics under the Free Char that some users cannot see. For eg. characteristics like Criminal record, Promotion, Wage-related info. Thus, if the user drags these characteristics into their report, they should get no data or "No Authorisation" message.

Does he want them only to see the details (ie the specific values inside the char.)?

Such as being able to see the sold qty detailed only by sales org, dist chan. and 4 more chars and not being able to see the details of customers?
