In the simplest words : It is a setting that says which program and form(

Sapscript/Smart Form/Adobe Form) will be attached to output message. Output message is used in business transactions (SD, MM) and allows to output document (invoice, odred confirmation). So in configuration usualy you set the printing program and form name for output message in transaction NACE you can also set the device (printer, fax, ALE, EDI etc) Try to go to transaction NACE and the you select proper application and could see the output messages if you go deeper you can see the settings for output messages

Hi..

Output Determination is Done in The Tcode NACE for most of the Applications.

It is the Configuration to Invoke the Output of the Document from the Application based on the Requirement.

Here we will configure which Print program and Form has to be called for a Particular Output type (Eg: BA00 - Order Confirmation.

This is mostly done by functional consultant.

The Output Determination component offers output functions for sales, shipping, transportation, and billing to help you manage sales transactions with your customers and within your company. You can create sales activity output (for example, customer telephone calls, mailing campaigns) and group output (for example, freight lists). Your company employees can send and receive output. Output is directly linked to the corresponding sales transaction (for example, the system automatically sends an order confirmation via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) as soon as the employee creates an order).

The output determination component is used for output control. Like if you create a sales order what output type should be used to trigger output, what program and form should be called. ..etc
