running 2 LiveCache instances on one Box

Hi all,

does anyone know technical details if it should be possible to run 2 independant LiveCache instances on one Physical Hardware Server?

Both run in their dedicated SAP Netweaver 7.0 System but share the same Physical Memory, Harddisk, CPU.

Thank you

Hi Nesimi,

on what is the statemen5 of these APO/LC based?

If you look into the installation guide (http://service.sap.com/instguides) for SCM/liveCache you'll find that the liveCache name has to be chosen by the customer and that it has to be unique throughout the system landscape.

It's NOT stated that you can have only one livecache per server.

Anyhow, it's questionable if this is a good idea, since liveCache instances are very resource intensive components that try to get all the processing power they can get.

Putting more than one liveCache to one machine could (will) lead to performance issues and perhabs aborts due to resource bottlenecks (e.g. main memory).

Nevertheless: it's possible (e.g. for non-productive environements).
