Error in Excel Upload

Former Member

Hi ,

I am trying to upload an excel file for WBS/cost element planning.

I am getting the following error, could anyone assist me.

A later upload is not possible with this layout

Message no. K9363

Diagnosis

The layout cannot be used for an upload. This can be caused by one of the following situations:

The layout does not contain a data field that is ready for input.

The layout has a lead column that only contains the text for the characteristic value and not the characteristic value itself.

The layout contains formulas.

The layout has a complex lead column and contains empty lines.

System Response

If generic file names have already been created (that is, an upload is intended), the file description cannot be saved.

Procedure

If you want to use the layout for an upload, configure it accordingly.

If one of the last three situations is the case, the layout can only be used for manual planning and not for an upload. In this case, remove the generic file name.

Thanks,

Srini

Hi,

The solution for the problem is there in diagnosis:

Diagnosis

The layout cannot be used for an upload. This can be caused by one of the following situations:

1)The layout does not contain a data field that is ready for input.

2)The layout has a lead column that only contains the text for the

characteristic value and not the characteristic value itself.

3)The layout contains formulas.

4)The layout has a complex lead column and contains empty lines.

System Response

If generic file names have already been created (that is, an upload is intended), the file description cannot be saved.

My problem was the first one.

While defining the planning layouts,

I have forgot to select the set variables for WBS elements,

In turn while setting the default parameters in planner profiles I am not getting the WBS element fields, so that is not ready for input.

So please investigate in the planner profiles what is the field which is not getting populated and check the layout for that field.

Or else it can be any other problem mentioned in the diagonsis.

I hope I have answered your question.

Thanks,

Srini

Hi Srini... Thanks for the reply..!!!

My problem is as mentioned in the 3rd point, (i.e.) The layout contains formulas...

I want to know whether the layout will not upload correctly if it contains formulas..?? If it is so, then is there any solution available for this where we can prepare a layout with formulas and upload into the SAP system..??

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Please check whether the format used in excel matches with the layout in which you are planning to upload. Further, please also check whether the file desciption mentioned by you while uploading is correct. This can be checked in KP34. Please also ensure that file that your are trying to upload is in saved in tab delimited format.

hope this helps.

Please assign points as a way to say thanks.

Also make sure that excel sheet is closed before upload and is not open in the system else you get error message

Hi Srini,

If you want to upload planning dates why you don´t use KEPM?
