Physical Inventory - Process

Dear All,

One of our user is prepared the physical inventory document through MI10. The physical stock was updated in the wrong storage location and identified later. Now, he wants to correct the stock with previous posting period (the posting date is open). Note that, there are certain other movement took place after the initial stock correction (physical inventory). All the cases the physical stock is more than book stock

Please recommend the procedure to bring the physical inventory as required. Also suggest can we update the physical stock with the revised quantity on previous date ?

The option suggested is probably best in that you do a MB1B movement type 311 for sloc to slco transfer.

However on the Front screen of MB1B change the two dates at the top of the screen (doc date and posting date) to the earlier date you want to show. This should 'fix' your issue.

You could try reversing the material document that was created when you executed MI10. You will fing this using MB51 and then use MBST to cancel the document. This should put all of the materials on that document back to what they where before you counted them.

This Physical Inventory document contained many line items and difference got posted with positive / negative variance. Unfortunately, certain material movements happened in these storage locations subsequently, hence the reversal of the material document & do the process again may not possible from our end.

please suggest if any alternative solution available

Hi,

As to my knowledge a material document created by Physical inventory posting can not be reversed.In the present case the alternative like transferring the stock to correct storage location by movement type 311 can be done to place it in correct storage location .
