Hi BW Experts,
I have a Characteristic say Payment terms now the requirement is when Payment term is = 'XYZ' then assign 'ABC'. I have tried to create a replacement variable for Payment terms as numeric and now i am getting the ( formula variable ) in column but
1) I dont see any value when i run the report
2) I am not able to assign / check for a characteristic value like ABC or XYZ.
Any help / information would be helpful.
Points shall be awarded.
Thanks.
Warm Regards,
Akilesh
hi, do u want the assignment to happen in only one report or in all reports????
if u want it in all reports that is data target level why dont u replace it in update / transfer rules itself.

Hi Akilesh,
You cannot assign a condition on chars or check for the char values. If you need to check if the char value is ABC or XYZ, then you can try to model an attribute for this char and assign 1 when the value is ABC, 2 when the value is XYZ and so on. Then pull this attribute into the report using the formula variable replacement path, and use that to determine what the char value is.
Hope this helps...

HI,
This assignement has to be in the report because the Characteristic i am using is the Master data and the requirement is only for this report.
Thanks.
