funtional mapping is supported by XI or not? if so where can i find this options in XI

AFAIK there is nothing called functional mapping,basically in graphical mapping we have loadz of standard functions and i guess this questions is referring to any mapping performed by using those standrad functions.
also UDF comes under this though they are customer specific and not SAP standard
