Hello All

Please let me know the procedure for calculating material avail date.

my probelm

Two order are created on the same day from same plant but having different Material avail date.

Hi Srikanth,

Material Availability date is calculation field. When system calculate the availability of the material on a requested delivery date, it will consider different lead times into consideration. there are two strategies available called Backward scheduling and Forward Scheduling.

For examplet today you are creating an order and requested delivery date is say 30.08.2007. For the system to confirm the schedule line on 30th, first it will do backward scheduling to arrive at Material availability date. Say we have different lead times like pick time, pack time, load time, transit time etc. for about 8 days. Then starting from the 30.08 system will count back wards i,e 30-8 = 22.08. On 22nd August material should be available in the plant to confirm the delivery date on 30th. This is called material availbility date. If the material is not available on 22nd then system will do forward scheduling to confirm the delivery date. In process of this it will consider ATP settings.

mat avilable date will be based on del scheduling calculated backward from requested delivery date wich include pick/pack time, loading time(both from shipping point) and transpotation lead time , transit time from route.

if mat avilable date systcomes before order preparation date then system will confirm the sh line with forward scheduling

for this you should know about availability check, that how system is calculating the for the date.

• Availability Check: 02 – individual requirement

It is a checking group for availability check.

The value of this field defines weather system has to carry out TOR (Transfer of Requirement) and Availability Check

If the system hast to carry out availability check then it determines what kind of MRP elements

(Purchase requisition, P.O) including in availability check

It also determines weather availability check carry’s out until the Replenishment Lead Time

or it should check over the entire period of MRP elements.

It also determines what kind of requirements it has to generate

Those are 1. Individual requirements 2. Collective requirements

If this material placed in an order or delivery.

a) Individual requirements:

In individual requirement system creates MRP records for each schedule line of the material.

b) Collective requirements:

In collective requirements system creates MRP records collectively ex: weekly once

When the business generates number of sales orders per day collective requirements are advisable.

c) RLT the time that business requires to procure the material internally or externally

Together with checking rule, this checking group controls availability check.

Go to MMBE and see the stock which you have entered in the order and see the stock available there.
